NBA trade rumors 2016: Cleveland Cavaliers want to add another point guard

The Cleveland Cavaliers are off to a hot start in the regular season, having lost only a couple in 13 games so far. The reigning National Basketball Association champions aren't the favorites to win the title this year though due to the mere existence of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and the Golden State Warriors out in the west. And while anyone can say that LeBron James and the Cavs will eventually find a way to defeat the Warriors for the second time in as many NBA Finals, this year could be very different due to Cleveland's lack of a reliable backup point guard.

A recent report from Cleveland.com talked about the team's obvious need for depth, citing the departures of last year's reliable backup players in Matthew Dellavedova and Mo Williams for different reasons. At this point, talented rookie Kay Felder is Kyrie Irving's lone sub, but he's not expected to contribute big time in the playoffs. Therefore, Cleveland will eventually have to look somewhere else to find a decent player who can give Irving the relief he needs, especially when matched up with the likes of not just Curry but also Russell Westbrook, Tony Parker, Kyle Lowry, and Chris Paul.

In the same report, the name of free agent Norris Cole was brought up; although Bleacher Report noted that it's difficult to get Cole's services for the reason since he recently signed a contract to play in the Chinese Basketball Association.

With that in mind, the most feasible yet not so viable option is to entertain trade scenarios and offers. There are so many good point guards out there, particularly veterans who are dwelling in teams that don't have a realistic shot at winning a title this year or even the next couple of years. Cleveland can dig a little deeper and figure out which ones want to get out of mediocrity and instead play for the Cavaliers with a chance to win a championship.

But one huge question is who will the Cavs give up in the process?
