After getting Jeremy Evans, the Indiana Pacers come out with another acquisition, this time signing up free-agent point guard Aaron Brooks.

The deal with Brooks has already been finalized, according to the Indy Star. In a press release, Pacers president Larry Bird deemed Brooks a good addition to the team, saying that the free agent is "a proven point guard in the NBA." Bird added, "He can create and shoot the three. He's another scorer for our second unit who plays at a high level at both ends of the court."

Checking out Brooks' stint in the league also shows that the hoops player is already a veteran. Starting out his nine-year stay with Houston, Brooks recently played for Chicago, an additional lineup for the Bulls for two seasons. Brooks averaged 7.1 points and 2.6 assists in 69 games last season.

Although the terms for the deal have not been released, there are talks that Brooks signed up for a one-year contract for $2.5 million.

Meanwhile, since Brooks will fill the backup point guard position behind Jeff Teague, there is talk that the Pacers will do away with Monta Ellis. According to rumors, Ellis has already been signed out by the team for trade. According to observers, if Pacers release Ellis, one of the teams that may benefit from the veteran guard is Brooklyn Nets. Reportedly, the Nets needs a shooting guard to fill the team roster after failing to sign up some of the team's targets. The Nets previously mentioned interest in signing up Tyler Johnson from the Miami Heat and Allen Crabbe from the Portland Trail Blazers but the deals did not push through. Getting Ellis means the team will add a scorer, partnering Ellis with Jeremy Lin.

Ellis has three years left to play for the Pacers, with a rumored $10.7 million deal for the 2016-2017 NBA season.
