The Indiana Pacers may be making a trade to recruit Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets. According to Hall of Fame Magazine, team president Larry Bird recently replaced coach Nate McMillan with Frank Vogel with the hopes that Vogel would target a fast-paced roster which may include the addition of Faried to the team.

The report points out that the NBA is making a shift to small-ball offense where the main strategy is for fast-paced action. This would involve a lot of passing, outside shooting and running instead of the typical plays of driving the ball in. This is the type of play that Faried works well with and he may be able to draw a good offense with Myles Turner.

It is further stated that Ian Mahinmi is expected to leave the Pacers and follow Vogel to the Orlando Magic. Faried will reportedly be a good fit to fill in the void which has only gotten bigger ever since David West left and joined the San Antonio Spurs.

According to Inquistr, there is also a chance that the Pacers may be recruiting Jeremy Lin despite the fact that Lin is more than likely going to stay with the Hornets. Lin recently declined the Hornets' offer and will enter free agency but this may simply be a ploy to entice the Hornets to make a better offer once they see what deals other teams give Lin.

If Lin is indeed brought to the Pacers he may be able to spend more time in the spotlight and reportedly could bring back "Linsanity" which exploded when he played for the New York Knicks. According to the report, Lin would be a perfect plan B in case the Pacers do not get the shooters they are hoping for. 

Lin is also a fast-paced player akin to Faried and if the Pacers manage to grab both they would be able to build a strong offense. Neither Faried nor Lin has yet commented on the potential to move to the Pacers.
