NBA trade rumors 2016: Sixers working to get Kris Dunn, Ricky Rubio

The Sixers are coming into the upcoming season of the NBA with guns blazing. With days leading up to the drafts, the team is reportedly hard at work behind the scenes to secure the No. 3 draft pick from the Celtics.

According to a tweet by Liberty Ballers Associate Editor Jake Fischer, the Sixers are very interested in getting Kris Dunn so if Boston picks him during the drafts, it is very likely that the Sixers will pitch for him. They have some tough competition in Sacramento and Pelicans are also interested in him.

The Sixers may also be getting trade offers for Nerlen Noels as the Rockets have reportedly offered Trevor Ariza and Patrick Beverly for the younger point guard.

"Numerous rivals describe Philly as the most active team in circulation ... with a trade involving Nerlens Noel looking more and more likely," ESPN's Mark Stein tweeted.

Aside from wanting Kris Dunn on the team, the Sixers are also reportedly working to get Ricky Rubio from the Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves are expected to consider the Sixers' offer but only if they also agree to take Nikola Pekovic's contract.

The Sixers would have to weigh their options since Rubio's ability as an offball player may prove crucial to complement Ben Simmons' play. However, Rubio would have to work on his shooting because the team needs to improve on this aspect.

According to sports reporter Jerry Zgoda, the Sixers has been eyeing Rubio for months.

Aside from talking to the Timberwolves, the Sixers have also been talking to Boston and Sacramento and seems intent on improving its position next year.

Surprisingly, coach Brett Brown revealed that they were being approached by the other teams than the other way around, the PhillyVoice reported.

"We were the recipient of more calls than calls going out. Just like everybody, I'm not going to get into the detail of the specifics, but it was an active phone," he said.
