'NCIS: LA' season 7 spoilers: Show ready to 'blow some stuff up'

NCIS: Los AngelesCBS

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 is coming this fall but several scenes have already been shot and a sneak peak teaser was attached to the season 6 finale, revealing that Callen's father, Nikita Reznikov, is still alive and still has strong ties to the KGB.

According to Vinereport, Callen's hunt for his father was one of the main plot holes of the previous season but it also anchored the season down in terms of character development and plot progression. Season 7 appears to change all that as it will now put Callen's search front and center instead of delegating it to the side.

"There has been so many storylines that have been planted. Little tidbits planted over every season ... We are finally harvesting these tidbits ... Great stuff coming in the future," actor Chris O'Donnell stated, cited by Vinereport.

LL Cool J then added, "We're going to blow some stuff up."

He explained that season 7 is going head-strong with individual character plot arcs and explosive storylines, indicating that this upcoming season 7 will make up for the slow pace of season 6.

One of these storylines involves the reunion of Deeks and Kensi. According to a report from Fashion Style, the relationship between these two will also affect the relationship between Nell and Eric. The report explains that the show will need to give some time to Deeks and Kensi before the show can shine the spotlight on another couple.

The report continues to explain that the showrunners do find it difficult to manage several couples at the same time because there are the crime storylines that need to be the main focus of the show. Unfortunately, this means there is no definitive telling when Nell and Eric are going to get together.

However, Renee Felice Smith, who plays Nell in the series, did give some hope that season 7 will continue to build what was started when she stated, "We've seen them flirt and we've seen them have a kiss. This is kind of the history that's necessary for that kind of relationship to be forged."

"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 7 is scheduled to premiere this fall.
