Expect relationships to grow even deeper when NCIS Los Angeles returns for its eighth season on CBS.

The season, when it comes back on October 2 will mark a new milestone in fan favorite characters Deeks and Kensi.

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, the characters, who are played by Eric Christian Olsen and Daniela Ruah will take the next step in their relationship when Deeks finally pops the question in an unexpected but classically Deeks fashion.

The actors teased that there was some great acting to be expected from Olsen, and after getting married, a baby is coming for the couple this season. This is a golden opportunity for the writers to write in Ruah's real life pregnancy into the story.

"My pregnancy has brought on reasons to hide the pregnancy, which has then inspired a very particular storyline this season - at least in the first half of it, that's all I know - where something very drastic happens to the whole team. Kensi is affected by that a little bit more, and that poses obstacles and a big long trajectory for Kensi and Deeks," Ruah said in an interview with Enstarz.

She said that she will be taking a brief maternity leave after she gives birth but she'll be back before the viewers even notice that she's gone.

Meanwhile, fans are hoping that Callen (Chris O' Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) will further strengthen their partnership and friendship in the upcoming season.

Last season, the bond between the partners were strengthened even further when Callen went the extra mile when Sam's family was in danger, further proving that they are more than co-workers but true friends to each other.

Entertainment site Carter Matt posted that some scenes showing the duo as normal people and not in work mode could work well for the progression of their relationship.

Meanwhile, a familiar face will be joining the cast this season for a multiple episode appearance.

Kurt Yaeger, who has earlier appeared in NCIS as Freddie Linn, will be joining the cast, but this time as Sullivan and it is speculated that his involvement will be linked to Kensi's storyline, Enstarz reported.
