'NCIS LA' season 8 spoilers: Deeks to have stand-in partner while Kensi goes on mysterious mission?

 CBS

In the new season of "NCIS: Los Angeles," it seems that Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) might get a new partner temporarily. Meanwhile, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) will be doing a task that is yet to be disclosed.

According to the Ecumenical News, Ruah is on maternity leave, since she is going to bear her second child with Olsen's brother, and the actress is saying that the viewers will not even know that she took her sabbatical for the time being. With the eighth season of "NCIS" already started in July, and thankfully Ruah is already almost done with her shoots. As such, when she returns after her two-week break, her story will seemlessly flow once again, as if she never disappeared.

In her interview with TV Over Mind, she said that the writers were very accommodating and took a drastic turn in her character's life. Sone of the scenes were written for her were shot before she gave birth, and the rest of it will be shot a couple of weeks after she gives birth, and she will always be in every episode.

So with this, it is quite a mystery how Deeks still needs to find a new partner. However, some rumors suggest that the newest season of "NCIS" is the best time for the show to try out something new and see how everything works out. Deeks will most likely get Nell (Renee Felice Smith) as a temporary partner, since she was already selected as Kensi's substitute in the past. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) are also possible as substitutes, but highly unlikely as these two are pretty much a unit.

Regardless, the most-awaited eighth season of "NCIS: Los Angeles" will be aired on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. EST.
