The team will take on the challenge of locating Ruiz (Anthony Ruivivar), Sam's (LL Cool J) former partner, in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "NCIS: Los Angeles."

In "Unspoken," Cartermatt reveals that the agent will disappear during an undercover operation. Ruiz is buying a bomb when he suddenly disappears. The Los Angeles squad must race against time and locate him before it becomes too late. Ruiz is in an uncompromising situation, where his life means nothing to the bad guys. Will they still find him alive?

Last episode, special agent DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) teamed with the Los Angeles team to apprehend a fugitive at large in the city. The criminal managed to escape on a flight from Singapore and they must locate him before he could do some damage. DiNozzo did not want his boss to know about what happened, so he asked them to keep the search as quiet as possible.

Rio Syamsundin (Bobby Lee) escaped from his U.S. Marshal escort and vanished in-flight. Sam and Callen (Chris O'Donnell) thought all kinds of schemes on how he managed to flee undetected. They theorized that he bribed someone from the crew. Syamsundin must have drugged his escort, after which the attendant on his payroll escorted him out of the plane. The pair also believed he used a double to confuse the authorities.

While the team was brainstorming, they received intelligence that the criminal was riding a rented red mustang convertible. Syamsundin was taking a leisurely ride around Los Angeles, unruffled that the authorities were after him.

Hetty (Linda Hunt) knew that DiNozzo did not want Gibbs (Mark Harmon) to find out how he busted the case. She wisely allowed herself to be included in the secret, however, and let her operatives to help in the search. Gibbs was waiting for the plane to arrive in the afternoon, so they only had few hours to finish the task.

"NCIS: Los Angeles" airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
