Today's "NCIS" season 13 episode will continue to center on Gibbs, who will show up at the office wearing a drastic new look in this installment. The episode titled "Personal Day" will further show Gibbs manifest changes borne of the shooting incident that almost took his life.

The trailer shows a "new Gibbs," who has apparently undergone "the makeover of the century." Underneath this "spectacular" shell, unfortunately, lie his internal enemies formed by the near-death experience that continues to haunt him. What's worse is that he won't open up about it.

"There are physical changes they'll see. There are some psychological changes. There are changes in his approach to his agenting," showrunner Gary Glasberg told TV Guide, adding that fans will have to watch out for "significant twists and surprises."

In the trailer for "NCIS" season 13 episode 2, DiNozzo insists on protecting Gibbs, who, in turn, asks him to get off his back and tells him he knows nothing. In the previous episode, it was DiNozzo who takes down The Calling for good.

Gibbs may have healed physically but the psychological effects of the incident has triggered something else and invited "old demons" to return.

The episode for tonight will allow viewers to get to know more about Gibbs's past. The agent will drive the team into providing help to DEA Agent Luis Mitchell, who DiNozzo will discover has a connection with Gibbs personally. It seems that the former will confront the latter about it too.

Meanwhile, this old friend will be the key for DiNozzo and the team to learning about the "things that we still don't know about," as Glasberg guaranteed in the same TV Guide interview. It remains to be seen what Mitchell knows about the agent, but it should be revealed tonight.

"NCIS" season 13 episode 2 "Personal Day" airs tonight, Sept. 29.
