"NCIS" season 13 episode 3, titled "Incognito," will see McGee (Sean Murray) and Bishop (Emily Wickersham) pose as a married couple in order to covertly investigate a murder case.

According to the spoilers laid out by TVGuide, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will receive a call from a Marine about a possible case that the team would have to handle. However, hours after the call, the marine is found dead, with the lieutenant and his wife as the main suspects.

The promotional trailer indicates that the undercover relationship might be played a bit for comedic purposes, such as an instance where Bishop and McGee share a kiss. However, the tone of the trailer noticeably goes into darker territories when Bishop enters the suspects' home by herself with no backup.

For a brief moment in the trailer, Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette) appears shocked, and Gibbs is then shown to enter the suspects' home with a gun in his hand, indicating that something wrong may have happened to Bishop during her earlier drop-by.

Going undercover as a married couple may also lead to dire consequences with Bishop's real husband, NSA employee Jake Malloy (Jamie Bamber). Showrunner Gary Glasberg indicated during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that Bishop's love life would see a few twists and turns this season 13.

"A really significant story is Emily Wickersham's character, Bishop, and how this job with 'NCIS' is affecting her marriage," he explained. "That will continue to arc out and really take her on a bit of a journey, and she's been doing a beautiful job, and we're excited about where that's headed."

It is speculated by fans that this undercover investigation might be fun for the viewers but will not be for Bishop's husband. There are also speculations that Bishop may develop real romantic feelings for McGee, which would create tension between her and her husband.

"NCIS" season 13 episode 3 airs this Oct. 6.
