"NCIS" season 13 fans will soon say goodbye to one of their favorite characters, Tony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly). But with Weatherly's exit from the series, a new one will step in to take his place.

According to TVLine, which first reported the news, "NCIS" will be adding two regular actors to the series. Now, details about the first of the two upcoming regulars have surfaced.

TVLine noted that the newcomer, a female actress, will be joining the show just in time for the end of season 13. "NCIS" is looking for a well-known actress who will play the role of FBI Special Agent "Tess."

The character is described to be in her late 30's and has just transferred from New York City's Counter-Terrorism Unit to the D.C. office. Tess is also said to be "quick-witted, sarcastic and shrewd."

She'd been divorced three times because as expected, her ex-husbands couldn't keep up with her lifestyle. She also does not have children, but she is willing to be a mother figure to anybody who needs one. She can have a really bad temper and she already has a reputation for getting into trouble with her superiors.

What would Gibbs (Mark Harmon) have to say? Viewers will soon find out. Meanwhile, not much is known about the other character except that it will be played by a male actor.

With news on the female newbie, one would quickly wonder who among the many familiar faces on TV will play the role of Tess. BuddyTV shared some of its list of candidates that may be appropriate to play the character.

Yvonne Strahovski, well-known for her role as gorgeous Sarah Walker in "Chuck," makes the list. She maybe a bit younger than Tess is described to be, but surely she can pull this one off.

Angie Harmon of "Law & Order" and "Rizzoli & Isles" is also one of the candidates. She won't be a stranger when it comes to detective roles as she is one in "Rizzoli & Isles," which is set to conclude after season 7.

Other names on the list include Sarah Michelle Gellar, Maggie Q, and Katee Sackhoff, among others.

"NCIS" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
