Tony DiNozzo's (Michael Weatherly) time with the NCIS squad is almost up, but fans would like to know how the fan-favorite character will say goodbye in the finale of "NCIS" season 13.

DiNozzo will be seen for the last time in the episode titled "Family First." While the plot for the episode reveals that the team will be busy going after an escaped former British agent, showrunner Gary Glasberg warned viewers to prepare for a highly emotional season 13 finale.

In an interview with TVLine, Glasberg revealed that tears will be shed in the episode.

"People should absolutely be planning on some really serious, heart-wrenching moments. There'll be tissues involved," Glasberg said. "I'm very proud of the emotional resonance of what this is, even in terms of what we're filming right now in the finale."

Glasberg also told The Hollywood Reporter that the last scenes that Weatherly filmed for the series were absolutely touching.

"We're trying to give each character their due and send Tony DiNozzo off appropriately. People should prepare for some real emotion and a bit of a rollercoaster ride," the showrunner explained. "There's fun and action but the last act — the last 15 minutes — are really touching."

But when asked if DiNozzo will be killed off in the series, the showrunner gave a vague answer. He said that they made it a point that the character will maintain his prominence until his very last moment on the show and made it appear that he will remain a part of the NCIS family. But he hinted that his exit will have a huge impact on the series.

Also, Glasberg did not provide a clear answer regarding the possible return of Ziva (Cote de Pablo) in the season 13 finale. He revealed that DiNozzo's father (Robert Wagner) will be back to see his son's final moments on the team.

The season 13 finale of "NCIS" airs on Tuesday, May 17, on CBS.
