It looks like Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) will be the next on the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) team to have a failed relationship when she and husband Jake (Jamie Bamber) decide to divorce in one of the upcoming episodes of the long-running CBS series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wickersham dished out on what viewers could expect between her character and the National Security Agency (NSA) agent. In the past episodes, Bishop was seen coming to terms with her husband's infidelity. Jake admitted to her that he was having an affair. While Bishop had no qualms that he had women falling all over him, she was not exactly expecting that he would succumb to their flirtation. The news was a complete shock to her and she reeled with the knowledge that the person she most trusted in the world betrayed her.

Bishop decided to come home to Oklahoma to lick her wounds. But when she eventually returns to work in episode 11, the operative will reportedly have a heart-to-heart talk with Jake. Based on Wickersham's interview, it looks like the two will decide to part ways and end their marriage for good.

"At this point, we don't know if they're going to continue or not. I feel like deep down inside, she has made a decision at the end of this episode, and I don't think they'll continue," she said.

According to the actress, Bishop and Jake's foundation in their marriage was just not strong enough. She said that even if Bishop then decided that she was leaving NSA to work for NCIS, it should not have been a valid reason for their relationship to slowly crumble. His affair was just the "kicker," as the break up was a long time coming because of their lack of communication. Even though he will now be divorced from Bishop, viewers will still get to see the handsome agent once in a while. Wickersham said the two would still "cross paths" when the NSA teams up with her squad.

Meanwhile, Wickersham also let slip on what else to expect for the rest of the season. She said that there would be some "fun stuff" to look forward to with Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson), as well as Delilah Fielding (Margo Harshman) and Timothy McGee (Sean Murray). As for Bishop, viewers should be warned that they would see her struggling with a life without Jake.

"It's a big life change, going through a divorce, and that doesn't just affect Bishop in her relationship. It definitely affects her work, everything in her life. I'm sure it'll take her to some dark places, maybe, and I'm sure we'll see her working through things," the actress said.
