Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) gets involved in a political scuffle when Congresswoman Jenna Flemming (guest star Mary Stuart Masterson) continues to receive threats in an all-new "NCIS."

Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) arranges a temporary protection detail that will oversee the politician as she fulfills her day-to-day activities until the tension is resolved and the culprit is brought into custody. The episode titled "Pay to Play" is tipped to have a major link with the Naval detectives and there is a bigger issue at play in the narrative given that the NCIS is heavily involved in the matter.

Aside from the case at hand, the ongoing arc for Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) will also continue. Last week's revelation, that she actually has a secret romance in the office with Qasim Naasir (Rafi Silver), will play out in the next couple of episodes as revealed by Wickersham herself. During a postmortem session with TV Guide, the actress shared that fans will get to see her on-screen boyfriend more prominently moving forward.

"Over the next few episodes ... Qasim is in them and a little bit more of their relationship is revealed. You know how it goes at 'NCIS.' It's not like we're gonna learn so much, but we will definitely get a little window into their relationship," she teased.

Qasim has actually been in the "NCIS" lore for some time now. The character was first introduced back in season 12 when his brother, Rasheed Naasir (Gabeen Khan), who is a terrorist, was killed by Gibbs. As for Bishop handling the budding romance, Wickersham says that it is by no means forced after her gritty relationship fallout last season that ended in divorce.

"Bishop has definitely regrouped and took time for herself, and really focused on work at NCIS. I don't get the feeling in my mind that she was really looking or on the prowl at all," the 32-year-old said, referring to her character jumping back into the dating game. "I think this thing that unfolds, it just kind of happens so naturally, and because there is this previous friendship, the relationship advances that much faster, and I guess just feels very natural."

Meanwhile, "NCIS" will be taking a one-week hiatus with no new episode airing tonight. Instead, the most-watched series on TV will be back on Dec. 6, Wednesday, at its usual timeslot of 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
