'NCIS' season 14 spoilers: Sarah Clarke tipped to become show regular

CBS

"NCIS" season 13 saw the departure of Michael Weatherly as Tony DiNozzo and Cote de Pablo would not be returning either as Ziva Davis despite numerous rumors spreading across the internet. However, as reported by Inquisitr, it is possible that Sarah Clarke would be filling the gap as one of the new series regulars.

According to the report, Clarke may be coming back as a new regular to continue portraying the character Tess Monroe. Monroe appeared during the final episodes of season 13, back then as a guest star, as an agent who transfered to DC from New York.

Back in March, Deadline revealed that Clarke was only signed on as a guest for season 13 given how few episodes she had to appear in but the contract also gave her the option to become a series regular for future seasons and it is likely this means she will be a regular for seasons 14 and 15.

Neither Clarke nor the studios have yet responded to the rumors and it is likely that her involvement with season 14 will be announced when production officially begins, but not during its early development where scripts can be altered and characters added in only to be written off later on.

If Clarke does sign on, she will be joining one confirmed new series regular, Wilmer Valderrama. CBS made the announcement back in June via the official "NCIS" Twitter account and it is possible that Clarke's Tess Monroe will be placed as his new partner or at least as one of his main officers on his team.

Fans speculate that if Clarke and Valderrama get to work together as the new leads for the show then the gap left by Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly will be less painful to longtime fans of the show. This cannot be determined, however, until the show officially premieres this coming Sept. 20 on CBS.
