"Need for Speed Payback" had a bit of a rough start last year but it has continued to deliver a lot of the features that many fans are asking for. The latest update will finally be adding a free roam mode to the open-world racing game and the best part is that it will be for free.

If players and fans of the game have been wanting to do some sort of hangout to show off their cars with their friends, similar to those in the "Fast and Furious" movies, they can finally do so now. The new freeroam mode is called "Alldrive: Hangout" where players can meet anywhere around the map.

"This is the place where you'll be going when you want an impromptu car meet with your friends, the place to take cool Snapshots of your crew, and the place for you to just cruise the streets (and of Road)" reads the official announcement from developers Ghost Games. It would be perfect to take a screenshot of it and Ghost Games understands that allowing players to further go farther away when using the camera.

In addition to the addition of this new mode, they have managed to sneak in some other new features. One of these is the "Catch-up" pack which quite simply allows players to catch-up with their friends' cars allowing them to speed up the progression of their own cars. There are three different kinds of packs: level 6, level 11, and level 16.

They can either be unlocked by going through the game's campaign or bought with in-game money. The update also added new variations such as Underglow and Tire Smoke. Players wil also be able to either sell or trade-in their unused Speed Cards.

The updates have been rolled out just recently. "Need for Speed Payback" is the latest game to the famous "Need for Speed" racing game franchise which was released back in November 2017.
