Online streaming giant Netflix has a new collection of movie offerings every month, but December always seems to be a bit more special compared to the other months, and this year is no exception. The most notable high-profile showcase for next month is Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War," but it's not the only one worth watching on the streaming service.

Per IGN, the other notable films for next month include "The Rock," "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids," "Hannibal," and "The Angry Birds Movie." Aside from those mentioned, there also is a full lineup of Netflix originals, including the season 2 of "Fuller House," "White Rabbit Project," "Spectral," and "Pacific Heat," among others.

"Captain America: Civil War" needs no refresh since it was released earlier this year, so might as well talk about the next best things for next month. The 1996 American action thriller film "The Rock" stars Nicolas Cage, Sean Connery, and Ed Harris in the lead roles. The movie is about an unlikely partnership between a chemist from the FBI and a prisoner/former Special Air Service operative against a group of rogue government troops blackmailing the government to paying $100 million for them not to release missiles which contain VX gas from the prison island of Alcatraz.

"Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" and "The Angry Birds Movie" are obviously Netflix's offerings directed for young audiences. The former is a 1989 comedy/science fiction family film about a scientist who invents a ray gun that can shrink objects, only to accidentally use it on his kids, in turn shrinking them. The latter, on the other hand, is the film adaptation of the massively popular mobile game from  Rovio, "Angry Birds."
