Camilla Parker Bowles will be introduced in "The Crown" when the series airs its third season next year.

The acclaimed Netflix drama is still on its way to its sophomore season, but new details about the possible third installment have already surfaced online. The character of the Duchess of Cornwall will be featured in the series as it continues to follow the members of the current royal family.

Over the weekend, producer Suzanne Mackie attended the BFI & Radio Times Television Festival in which she confirmed that Bowles will be included in the story for season three. "You start meeting Camilla Parker Bowles in season three. We have to be honest, season three and four are being mapped out," Mackie confirmed. 

So far, the Netflix hit has focused on Queel Elizabeth II's (Claire Foy) early life for its freshman run. The second season, which drops in November, opens in 1956 with the Suez Crisis — which ends in the early 1960s when Prime Minister Howard Macmillan stepped down from his post.

"The Crown" is a biographical drama on the Queen's life, but the next installment will reportedly shift its focus to her husband Prince Philip (Matt Smith). In March, series creator Peter Morgan confirmed that the core of season 2 will revolve around Philip's backstory and his "complexity." It remains to be seen whether the series would explore Philip's alleged affairs with other women.

For years, rumors have abounded about the Prince's alleged adulterous behavior. Morgan declined to give any clue if the show would explore the Prince's rumored affairs. "This is a spoiler-free chat! We're still in the cutting room and making all sorts of changes," he said.

The second season of "The Crown" premieres in the fall of this year, while the show's third season is expected to air sometime later in 2018.
