'New Girl' season 7 spoilers: Final season features time jump, life changes in cast

Jake Johnson as Nick and Zooey Deschanel as Jess in "New Girl" Fox

Fox series "New Girl" is fortunately renewed for a seventh season. However, the sitcom that stars Zooey Deschanel as Jess will air its final season. What can fans expect from this?

Without any assurance for a renewal, creator Liz Meriwether said that they ended season 6 like it is the series finale. But Meriwether did not give up and fought for the show. With that, they were given the chance to bring back the series for an eight-episode final season. Meriwether said during the 2018 Winter Television Critics Association press tour that she feels lucky that they were given the chance to end the show the way that they wanted to.

As the series returns, there are many exciting things that fans can look forward to. Spoilers reveal that there is indeed a time jump like what speculations said prior to the confirmation of season 7. The series will be set three years later, but it will still pick up where it left off in season 6.

According to reports, the season will start featuring Jess and Nick (Jake Johnson) touring the world together. Nick will be a very successful YA author, while Jess will be a witness in a federal. Deschanel also added that Jess will join Nick in his literary tours. The two will still face some relationship hurdles, and they are not yet married.

While Jess and Nick are just enjoying their time together, Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) will have their first child. On the other hand, Winston (Lamorne Morris) will get engaged to Aly (Nasim Pedrad).

Cece will work as a modeling agent, while Schmidt will be a stay-at-home dad. Instead of going to work, Schmidt will focus on their daughter and he will be a helicopter parent. As for Winston, aside from his engagement, he will be meeting his father, played by JB Smoove.

But not everything is fun and exciting because spoilers indicate that someone will die. A big cast member will face death, and it will be heartbreaking for fans. Speculates reveal that this could be Ferguson, Winston's cat.

"New Girl" season 7 premieres Tuesday, April 10, at 9:30 p.m. on Fox. It will end with a special hour-long series finale that will air Tuesday, May 15, at 9 p.m. on Fox.

The judgement of God has finally come upon the United Kingdom. Quietly. Silently. Like a thief in the night. It came in the form of an irrational, emotive and Godless parliament who this week voted to permit the killing of babies in the womb up until birth, and has now introduced the National Suicide Service, with its vote to permit assisted suicide. God has given us what we voted for.
