A new video game based on the popular anime series "Attack on Titan" will be coming out in 2016.

For those who may not be familiar with the aforementioned animated series, "Attack on Titan" focuses on a new era of humanity wherein people are forced to do battle with gigantic creatures known as Titans, according to Polygon.

The animated series has gone from being a popular show to becoming one of the most widely recognized animes to come out of Japan in recent years. Aside from a video game based on the animated series being announced, a live-action film focusing on the popular anime has also been released.

The new "Attack on Titan" video game will be the result of collaborative work from both Omega Force and Koei Tecmo. Those two development teams have worked before on games in the "Dynasty Warriors" franchise.

As of now, very few specific details are currently known about the upcoming "Attack on Titan" video game. What little that is known about the "Attack on Titan" video game reveals scarce details about what its gameplay could be.

According to Gamespot, the upcoming video game could feature gameplay that is similar to games in the "Dynasty Warriors" franchise, but with a twist. Instead of the players taking on the role of the solitary soldier going against an army, the web site suggests that players may now be the ones taking control of an army to take down a single Titan.

Fans of "Attack on Titan" can only wait for more details before they can get a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming video game.

An official name for the upcoming video game has also yet to be announced.

The "Attack on Titan" video game will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita.
