The defending Super Bowl champions New England Patriots continue making roster moves this 2015 season as they claimed safety Dewey McDonald off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts.

McDonald, who is known as a "special teamer," made it to the Colts' roster last season and played in 12 games, having 10 tackles. 

This season, the 25-year-old safety played one game for the Colts and registered one tackle before being waived. 

MassLive mentioned in their report that McDonald is already the 10th safety for the Pats and perhaps was signed because of the injury to running back Brandon Bolden. 

Bolden is suffering from a hamstring injury which made him miss their game against the New York Jets and is uncertain for their Week 8 matchup with the Miami Dolphins this Thursday. 

In order for the Patriots to add McDonald, linebacker Rufus Johnson was placed on the non-football illness/reserve list according to Masslive.com.

Along with the addition of McDonald to New England, the team also added two players to their practice squad and these were defensive backs Floyd Raven Sr. and Ross Ventrone, according to the Patriots' website. 

Raven played college football with Texas A&M and was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals last May, only to be released by September. 

Meanwhile, Ventrone was with the Pittsburgh Steelers to start the season and saw action in five regular season games as a member of the special teams. 

The Steelers then decided to release the 29-year-old defensive back on Oct. 13 before the Pats added him to the team's practice squad. 

New England has had roster moves in the middle of the season, with head coach Bill Belichick saying earlier this month that they are getting players who will be of big help to the team. 

The Patriots are having a great season in their title defense starting with a 6–0 record and will look to continue their dominance as the year progress.
