The Patriots managed to extend their victorious streak last week against the New York Giants, but it took a dramatic intervention by cornerback Malcolm Butler, who managed to knock a touchdown pass out of Odell Beckham Jr's hands to allow the Patriots to win 27-26 after a Stephen Gostkowski 54-yard field goal with just one second left on the clock.

But the win came at a cost, and now it looks like Edelman will be out for at least six weeks after breaking his foot in the opening quarter of the game.

Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady summed it up, indicating that it would be impossible to replace Edelman. He said, "You wish you could just plug someone else in, but that's impossible. Julian Edelmans just aren't sitting out on the street, or else they'd be playing for another team."

The Buffalo Bills meanwhile will be hoping to cause an upset tonight and inflict a first loss of the season for New England.

The Bills have improved significantly in defense over recent weeks; in their past two games they have allowed just 34 points, compared to 68 points in the two games prior to that.

But Buffalo will be up against a long history of losses when playing the Patriots. In their past 30 contests against New England, the Bills have succumbed 27 times. Whether they can turn the tide with a win tonight remains to be seen.
