Megan Fox as Reagan is set to return in "New Girl" season 6.

TVLine revealed that Fox will return to the sitcom for a major arc in the upcoming season. This could mean that Reagan and Nick's (Jake Johnson) relationship may flourish next season.

Fox's character was first introduced in the early episodes of season 5, when she had to fill the void left by Zooey Deschanel's Jess after the actress had to take a brief hiatus when she had to give birth to her first child. Fans of the show enjoyed Fox's stint in the series, which is why the producers decided to bring her back for more episodes in the latter part of the fifth season. But it seems like Reagan will still be a part of the sitcom for a longer stint in season 6.

However, fans should expect to see Reagan's return in the second half of the upcoming season. According to reports, the "Transformers" stars will be back on the set of the sitcom to film episodes after the midseason after she gives birth to her third child with Brian Austin Green.

But could Reagan's return pose a threat to Nick and Jess's dynamics? At the end of season 5, Jess revealed that she had broken up with Sam (David Walton) and realized that she still has feelings for Nick. But Nick told her that he wants to spend some time in New Orleans to be able to make his relationship with Reagan official. Could this spark a new tension among the three?

The sixth season of "New Girl" will also feature the conclusion of Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece's (Hannah Simone) wedding, which faced a lot of hurdles at the end of season 5. Will they finally get their happy ever after next season?
