iPod Nano, Shuffle 2015 features will not include Apple Music

Apple's iPod Nano and iPod shuffle devices are a great way to listen to music freely any time of the day but unfortunately the latest models don't seem to be included in the latest offering by the company's Apple Music.

After revealing the refreshed iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, don't be surprised if you are unable to transfer or sync music from Apple Music. Such was seen as a glitch by some at first but as it turns out, the move is something done to prevent piracy.

The iPod Nano and iPad Shuffle lack the features that would allow Apple to authenticate whether an owner's subscription is active or not. And apparently this has something to do with WiFi connectivity, something available only on other Apple devices like the iPod Touch, iPhone, and the iPad.

Apple Music was launched recently in what many see as a move to somehow get into the music streaming business. But as it turns out, that feature seems to be limited to Apple devices that have Internet access, a feature that is unfortunately not available from Apple's two popular music-rendering devices.

Apple Music is available to anyone with Apple devices that have Internet connectivity, giving users a free three-month trial. The bad news is that should people want to continue after that, they will have to pay $11.99 a month for a single user or $17.99 a month for a group of up to six.

Although the intent is obvious, it remains to be seen if this approach would prosper especially if one considers the free service that Spotify is offering.

With regards to the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, it remains to be seen if Apple is planning to address the limitation due to non-WiFi connectivity. With both devices apparently made for listening to music, having Apple Music in tow does seem to make sense.

If so, such could be done on future devices if Apple does have any plans of integrating it.

But as far as the old models are concerned, there is no promise that they will be getting one, although authentication could come before the devices are actually stored in the devices, a process that could take time if it does happen.
