New MacBook Pro 2014 deals signal release of new model soon

The MacBook Pro released early this year is currently offered in Apple's refurbished store.

Apple introduced the new 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display earlier this year with a slight update on the processor. The laptop now boasts a quad-core i7 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz from Intel paired with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB flash memory. The device is now being offered for $1,699, down from its original price of $1,999.

However, for those looking for a refurbished version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the device is now available in Apple's discounted store. The discounts hint on the release of its successor.

For those who are not aware, refurbished units were once defective units taken back to the manufacturer and the battery and back panel were both replaced. Thus, these units are as good as brand new.  A lot of people who purchased refurbished devices from Apple claim that they do not notice any difference between the brand new one and the refurbished unit.

This is not the first time that MacBook Pros received discounts. The laptop were being offered in various deals in the recent past like Apple's Back-To-School program that knocked off $100 from the price of a brand new unit.

Meanwhile, the alleged new MacBook Pro will most likely retain the screen size of its current model but will reportedly be equipped with a touchscreen feature and better battery capacity. The laptop will also be available in three color variants – space gray, silver and gold and will also pack a USB Type-C port.

As for its release date, the upcoming MacBook Pro is speculated to be released early next year as reports stated that the laptop will wait for the release of Intel's new Broadwell chipsets, which will give the device a big boost and an edge over its competitors. Whispers say that the new MacBook Pro will be released in the first quarter of next year.
