2018 will see 20th Century Fox bringing out their Marvel films in the midst of all the upcoming releases next year. These are "Deadpool 2," "X-Men: Dark Phoenix," and "New Mutants." Knowing that Fox is expanding their X-Men universe way past the core characters is already a way to make fans of the mutants happy.

That being said, one of the stars of the movie is assuring fans that the film will not disappoint. In a red carpet interview with HeyUGuys, Anya Taylor-Joy hinted at what to expect from "New Mutants," which recently wrapped up production.

Taylor-Joy plays Illyana Rasputin a.k.a. Magik, part of the original lineup of New Mutants in the comics as well as the sister of Colossus. She reassured that the film will be different than the usual X-Men movies, but they made sure that all the important parts of the characters' canon will be intact. The actress also went on to praise the film's director Josh Boone.

The excitement continues to build up for "New Mutants" especially since it follows the footsteps of several other X-Men properties in breaking the mold in the superhero/comic book genre. As if that assurance was not enough to excite the fans, it seems like a teaser trailer for the film may be coming a lot sooner than expected.

Boone took to Instagram to announce that a teaser trailer would be released for "New Mutants." Not much is known about the movie so far, but as Taylor-Joy had already explained and as previous reports already said, it will be quite different from any super hero movie that fans have seen before. Fans of the movies and the comics can expect that it will revolve around a group of young mutants that are confined in a secure facility.

Alongside Taylor-Joy, "New Mutants" also stars Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie/Cannonball, Alice Braga as Dr. Cecilia Reyes, Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa/Sunspot, and Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar/Mirage.

"New Mutants" will premiere on April 13, 2018.
