'NBA Live 16': new trailer released, game gets face scanning feature

EA Sports

EA Sports has revealed tons of new details about "NBA Live 16," which will hit the shelves on Sept. 29. The publisher is confident that fans will love the latest iteration of the basketball simulation, which received a lot of exciting features and tweaks in line with the gamers' feedback.

The icing on the cake is the inclusion of a new face scanning feature called GameFaceHD, which allows users to replicate their likeness to the game and virtually don their favorite NBA team's jersey. This feature is set to compete with the same facet 2K Sports featured in "NBA 2K15."

At the Electronic Entertainment Expo, EA Sports demonstrated just how easy it is to perform the face rendering. With an easy scanning of the left and right side of the gamer's facial features, which takes mere seconds, gamers will be able to play as themselves in the game.

EA Sports brags the game's flurry of new pass and catch animations and more natural and increased ball control and responsiveness. Also, the game welcomes the Freestyle Controls back and promises "buttery smooth" dribbles and crossovers. "NBA Live 16" has a new shot system as well.

"The release timing is no longer tied to the animation, and is now tied one-to-one with the button press. If you release too early or late you'll actually see and feel the difference," EA Sports wrote on its website, emphasizing on the game giving the most realistic basketball experience to date.

Speaking of realistic representations, gamers will also notice the game's impeccable depiction of the basketball players' mannerisms and moves. This aspect is evident in the new, fast-paced trailer that EA Sports debuted at the E3.

It also has the new LIVEmotion feature, which makes "players move around the court with purpose and intensity."

"NBA Live 16," which will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One on Sept. 29, is shaping up to be the biggest in its lineup yet.
