Microsoft is reportedly working on a revamped Xbox One controller that will have special features, especially a headphone jack, already built in. 

The redesign is part of Microsoft's big push prior to the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo. Set to showcase the biggest announcements and details on upcoming electronics projects, particularly in the gaming industry, this year's E3 event will take place on June 16 to 18 in California. 

In more recent updates about the new controller, an Austrian retailer, Libro, has already leaked the images of the alleged new Xbox One pads. The images seem to confirm the reports that the new console controllers will sport a new 3.5 mm headphone jack. This would mean that Microsoft would be doing away with its proprietary headphone jacks that are part of the old Xbox controllers; thus, players will be able to use their favourite headsets when on the Xbox One without having to use an adapter. 

Meanwhile, based on the images, the overall features and design of the new controller remain unchanged. However, with only the box art and a general perspective view of the new controller having been leaked, it is still unclear if Microsoft has put new features on the new Xbox One pad. Hardcore fans of the console are saying that one feature which would make the controller more user-friendly would be to make one that can already be charged via a USB cable straight out of the box. 

According to reports, the new controller will have a release date of June 8, and this settles the speculations that a new controller is just one of the projects Microsoft has under its wing to cap off the E3 event with a bang. It is expected that the company will be presenting the new controller alongside new titles at this year's E3 convention.
