The latest wave of New York Knicks trade rumors are suggesting that DeMarcus Cousins of Sacramento Kings will be headed to the Big Apple next season.

For several times now, Cousins has expressed his interest to play for the New York Knicks and to work with one of the club's members and undoubtedly one of the sport's finest – Carmelo Anthony.

Last year, CBS Sports reported that the New York Knicks is one of the teams that Cousins is looking to be part of. The others are Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics. Another Knicks attraction for Cousins is Anthony.

The power forward has never been shy of declaring his admiration for Anthony. In an interview with Sacramento Bee, Cousins can't help but become thrilled about the idea of working with his NBA hero.

"It's well-known that I have been a Melo fan my whole life so just to work with him on a daily, I think it is going to help me be a better player. I'm excited for it," Cousins said.

A lot of teams appear to be interested with Cousins, which is not much of a surprise seeing how he plays on court. However, Sacramento is not entertaining any offers from these interested parties, as per Hoops Rumors.

That being said, the Kings intend to keep the big man around next season. Cousins still has two years to go in his contract with the team and with Sacramento determined to keep him, he may not be going anywhere at least for now.

However, Lakers Nation knows that Cousins will be out of that Kings jersey sooner or later and the site believes that the LA Lakers should consider making an attempt to get him.

The site explains that Cousins will basically be a steal for the Lakers comparing the salary he will be paid in to the immense talents he has to offer.

This also gives them a greater opportunity to bring Russell Westbrook on board when he becomes an unrestricted agent. The two superstars are the only players they need to be contenders again.

However, for now, the status of Cousins in the trading block is up in the air.
