New York Knicks trade rumors 2016: Running out of time to address roster needs

The NBA trade deadline is counting down and the New York Knicks haven't really pulled the trigger on any potential trade/s.

The last word was that the Knicks were considering Jeff Teague of the Atlanta Hawks though the price to pay seems to be the one holding Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher back.

The same case somehow holds true for Brandon Jennings of the Detroit Pistons though many believe it was more of the health issue that foiled any plan to bring in the veteran guard.

So if not Teague and/or Jennings who else can the Knicks consider?

Two cheaper options come into mind – Will Barton or Garrett Temple.

The two have been showing signs of promise though the Knicks prefer someone who can make an impact.

Jose Calderon has failed to live up to the things the Knicks are expecting from a veteran guard but such is something he is no longer new to.

Calderon admits via Newsday that he is content with the Knicks but the reality of it all is that he may end up being the one to be traded in case the Knicks pull the trigger.

Calderon isn't really a bad player for the Knicks. It's just that he finds himself in a team that needs more than what he can offer.
But overall, the changing of the guards is only one of many things the Knicks have to address.

As mentioned on the Bleacher Report, other areas that need help on include rebounding and scoring.

While the Knicks do have Carmelo Anthony and rookie Kristaps Porzingis to cover that, a third man to do the dirty work and provide the energy is glaringly missing.

Robin Lopez has been there to try and fill up but the Knicks still seem to be lacking someone up front.
