New York Knicks trade rumors: Carmelo Anthony has no plans of leaving

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is aware of that controversial rumor that came out recently, the one involving his possible transfer to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Everyone is aware that Anthony has long wanted to play with LeBron James, something that dates back even when "The King" was still with the Miami Heat.

The only way for that to materialize is if Anthony asks for a trade from the Knicks. With a no-trade clause in place, dealing him can only happen if he wants it to happen. With that in mind, take it from the guy himself — he is not going anywhere, based on his interview with Sirius XM NBA Radio.

With Anthony wanting to win an NBA title badly, agreeing to a trade could be a step in the right direction. The Cavs are in a better position to win an NBA title over the upstart Knicks, although the All-Star forward wants it to happen without making such a big move and at the expense of his current team.

In fact, Anthony feels that winning an NBA title with the Knicks could be sweeter for obvious reasons. He is currently the franchise player and knows that he has a duty to fulfill for the ball club that has looked up to him to deliver a title.

According to that rumor that involved him, Anthony would have taken the place of a struggling Kevin Love.

Love has found it difficult to get into the groove with James and Kyrie Irving, failing to adjust to his new role and no longer being the main go-to-guy as he was with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Like Anthony, Love is looking to win his first-ever NBA title and is one of the reasons why he signed up with the Cavs.

The controversial trade rumor involving Anthony and Love are likely to remain up in the air until Feb. 18, which is tomorrow. Until that trade deadline lapses, expect the NBA rumor mill to buzz like crazy on whether the two will actually remain with their respective teams or play elsewhere.
