This NL Division Series is a best of five series, and that means there is less time to rectify mistakes. That means the pressure will be all the more greater tonight, and whichever team can handle the pressure best may come out on top.

The Mets will be sending Jacob deGrom out to the mound today to face off against three time NL Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw.

DeGrom recorded a 14-8 season with a 2.54 ERA and 205 SO's, compared to Kershaw's 16-7 season with a 2.13 ERA and 301 SO's.

DeGrom was of course the Rookie of the Year in 2014, and in his last trip out on the mound in preparation for this series he threw four hitless innings on Sunday. That game saw him move past the 200 strikeouts he gained in his first full season.

He only faced the Dodgers for one start this season, and allowed two hits through his 7 2/3 innings on the mound.

Opposite him, Kershaw needs little introduction. He led the MLB in strikeouts, surpassing the 300 mark, and posted a 1.22 ERA over his 17 starts on the mound. He will be eager to put on a performance today to try and improve on his past postseason record which has proven less spectacular; he has a 1-5 Playoffs record with a 5.12 ERA.
