New York Mets and St Louis Cardinals will face off in the MLB on Thursday afternoon, with the Mets looking to stop their big slide recently and claim a shock win against the high flying Cardinals. The game is scheduled to start at 1.45 p.m. and can be watched online through free live stream via the link below.

Today's game comes from the Busch Stadium in St Louis, Missouri, and sees the 26-13 Cardinals host the 14-23 Mets.

The Cardinals are looking to complete a four game sweep against the Mets, and with Adam Wainwright scheduled to take the mound today they have a great chance. If the Mets are unable to stop the slide today then they will drop to a seventh straight loss, which would be a season low for them.

Wainwright has fought back well since he allowed a season worst five runs and 11 hits in just five and a third innings at Milwaukee on May 4. His current stats are 5-2 and a 2.30 ERA. However, he recently recorded his third scoreless outing in 2013, and helped the Cardinals to their sixth win in their his last seven outings with them.

He has said, "I wanted to get back to the basics after the last start. I wanted to attack the strike zone right away. Keep it simple, that was my focus," according to The Associated Press.

At home especially, Wainwright has been hot, giving up just two runs and 11 hits in 25 innings. At the same time he has struck out 25 and walked three.

However, some analysts have pointed out that her has lost his last three starts against New York, and over those games he has a 9.92 ERA. The Mets will be hoping they can turn things around and turn their season around quickly.
