There was speculation that the Nexus 10 2 tablet will be manufactured by Samsung instead of LG or ASUS, and now more reports have emerged that are fueling the ongoing rumors.

Many believe that a Nexus 10 2 announcement will be made either at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas or the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

According to Taiwan-based DigiTimes, the Nexus 10 2 may be showcased at the 2014 CES by Google and Samsung as the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1.

The release of the Nexus 10 2 tablet has confused customers, as it was rumored to release in October, but has yet to show any signs of emerging.

Google has remained silent on its second-generation 10 inch slate, which was widely believed to be manufactured by LG. ASUS manufactured the first Nexus 10 released in 2012, but LG manufactured the popular Nexus 7 2 tablet, meaning that the second-gen 10-inch slate is very likely to be manufactured by the Korean company. Screenshots of a tablet with an LG logo have also surfaced online.

Last month SamMobile reported that Samsung is expected to launch its strongest rival to the iPad Air in January 2014. The rival tablet is said to pack a 10.5 inch AMOLED display and will be different from the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note tablet line.

The International Business Times speculates that this new Samsung tablet, not associated with the Tab or Note, may indeed be the highly awaited Nexus 10 2 tablet.

The Nexus 10 2 tablet is rumored to pack an HD 10-inch 2650x1600 display with gorilla glass, quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, 8 megapixel camera, and 9500mAh battery.
