Google is apparently on the move for its next Nexus mobile offering. Rumor has it that the software giant is teaming up with Huawei once more for its next flagship, which is currently being dubbed the Nexus 6 2016.

The software giant collaborated with Huawei for the Nexus 6P, which was released last September. It was the first time the two teamed up for a smartphone but if the report is any indication, Google is happy with the China-based tech firm's work.

The partnership also proved beneficial to Huawei, whose brand managed to enter the U.S. and Europe market with Google promoting it. This jump-started the company's entrance to the said regions with more devices on the way.

According to Industry expert Pan Jiutang, the so-called Google Nexus 6 2016 will make use of the newly introduced Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. The chipset will reportedly be in use in 70 other premium handsets by next year.

What this means is that Google might not be using the Huawei-made Kirin 950 processor on the new-generation Nexus 6 handset. However, the device is expected to be among the first batch of handsets to don Android N, the purported upcoming iteration of the Android mobile operating system.

Not much is currently known about the Android N, with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow just starting to crawl into a slew of smartphones, and from what has been reported, the software is expected to support split screen.

Meanwhile, Tech Times also has word that Huawei will instead be working with Google to refresh the Nexus 7 tablet, which was developed by ASUS and was released back in 2013. Dubbed the Nexus 7 2016, the reboot device will apparently be launched in May 2016.

While this report is yet to be corroborated, the aforementioned site says that there are reasons Nexus 7 will be given a sequel. Not only is the device being sold by retailers with insane amount of discounts, its age also suggests that it's about time to get a modernized new version.
