Google's latest Android software version is expected to be released in mid-October, if the rumors making the rounds online will turn out to be true.

According to reports, the latest version of the Android operating system, dubbed as Android 5.0 L, has been in development for a while, but it was only officially revealed during Google's I/O Conference last June. Also known as Android L, this new mobile operating system update carries a differently designed interface as well as a lot of other new features that are not available for the earlier OS versions.

Android Geeks recently reported that the news Nexus 9 will be unveiled soon, leading to speculations that the new OS will be made available early October for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, as well as Nexus 10. However, Google still has to make an official confirmation about this report.

Meanwhile, Experts Review had written that the alleged Android L will come with more than 5,000 new APIs, and it will present several feature upgrades particularly in its interface. The report also said that the Material design scheme for Android 5.0 L is expected to be seen in all Google platforms aside from Android, yet the design is said to look better when seen in mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.

GottaBe Mobile also said that the interface of the alleged Android L operating system will display more colors, visual effects, animations, as well as other interactive user buttons.

It is expected that earlier Google devices such as Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 will be the first ones to enjoy the new Android 5.0 L update when it becomes available to the public.  After that, gadget watchers are expecting that Google Play Edition devices such as HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 will be the next line of smartphones to experience the new OS, sometime in late November or early December; then it will be followed shortly by the Motorola-developed devices.
