Industry giant Google has just announced that it will be having an event in the last week of September, and if rumors are to be believed, then fans will be able to see the new line of Nexus devices and the much-anticipated Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The event itself has already been confirmed. Google has sent out invites to different interested parties, with the event kicking off at 8 a.m. PDT on Sept. 29 in San Francisco.

Although the company did not give details on what the event will be all about, or if any new devices will be launched, observers expect the much-awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow to finally make its anticipated appearance, based on the invites' tag, "some tasty new treats and much s'more."

Industry observers like ArsTechnica also speculate that Google will introduce a new lineup of Nexus smartphones. It has long been rumored that the company will be adding two new smartphones this year, both to be new iterations of the Nexus 5 product. Previous reports and leaks pointed out that the new handsets will come from Huawei and LG.

According to an NDTV's Gadgets 360 report, LG's take on the new Nexus will be dubbed as Nexus 5X, and is rumored to be coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with 2 GB of RAM, a 12.3-MP main camera, a fingerprint sensor, and a 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution. If the rumored specs are true, then the 5X will be a Nexus mid-range device, which will allegedly also come in two storage options: 16- and 32-GB variants.

Huawei's new Nexus is reportedly the Nexus 6P. It is said to come with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and a 12-MP and 8-MP main and secondary camera tandem. The new Huawei Nexus will reportedly come with a Snapdragon 810 processor partnered with 3 GB of RAM.
