Although the official release date for the Nexus 5 has not been revealed by Google, pre-orders for the phone have already begun in Japan.

Despite the phone not having launched yet, a company called Gecko and Co. in Japan is taking pre-orders for SIM-free handsets starting today. The company also states that it expects to ship the device on November 14, 2013. It also lists the price of the handsets: 44,600 yen ($460) for 16GB and 49,800 ($514) for 32GB. However, the device the 16GB model is rumored to cost just $299, and the 32GB model at $399 in the United States.

Rumored specs for Google Nexus 5 include quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor chip , 5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 resolution using Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology and 8 or 13 megapixel camera. It will of course likely launch with the Android 4.4. Kit Kat, which is being heavily promoted via candy bars from Nestle.

The 13 megapixel camera is expected to pack unique shooting features. The phone will also have either a 2 or 3GB RAM, 2700mAh battery, and the Adreno 330 GPU.

The device, rumored to be built by LG, is comparable to the LG G2.

Google's Nexus 4 was wildly popular last year due to its mid-range specs and affordable budget price. The phone is currently not available on the market now as stores await to receive the stock of new Google Nexus 5 handsets. An unlocked and no-contract version of the phone was only $299 and the price is expected to stay the same for the Nexus 5.

Google's Nexus 5 is one of the last major phones expected to be released before the end of 2013, and is highly anticipated by consumers all over the world.
