Nexus 5X release date and specs: High-quality images of LG device make the rounds

Google's Nexus 5 2015, now commonly dubbed as the Nexus 5X, showed itself in a bunch of images acquired by Android Pit. One photo of the device's rear shows its protruding primary camera on the top center and a round fingerprint scanner beneath it.

On the left of this raised camera lens is the dual-LED flash and laser auto-focus unit. Underneath all this is the huge Nexus logo. There's no sign of an LG logo though. From the looks of it, the leaked protective cases and accessories designed for the device would fit perfectly.

The Nexus 5X again shows itself in another photo, this time from a new angle. Android Pit is again the site that published the image which shows one side of the purported Google device. This is the first time users get to see this part of the handset.

Both the power button and the volume rocker are now on the right hand side of the Nexus 5X. Also, they are noticeably placed further down. The first-gen version of the smartphone released back in 2013 had the toggles on each side.

The photo also shows how much the camera protrudes, with Android Pit describing it as pimple-like. Unfortunately, the photo does not show the other side of the Nexus 5 2015.

The handset is said to come with a 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen. It is reportedly powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with the help of 3 GB of RAM. It boasts a 13-megapixel shooter on the back and a 5-megapixel snapper on the front.

The Nexus 5 2015 along with the purported Huawei Nexus 6 will be the first to don Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Google is said to formally introduce these two devices on Sept. 29, which will be made available for pre-order by Oct. 13.
