Nexus 6 problems: owners report mobile data loss issues

The Nexus 6 has always been considered one of the many flagship devices of Google, with the handset getting a huge chunk of Nexus series users. 

However, owners of the Nexus 6 on Sprint and T-Mobile networks are reportedly on an uproar following a major glitch on their devices, making them lose their mobile data connections.

No known bug or issue has been pinpointed yet but owners all share the same concern in most Android forums and Internet boards. The device starts to act out randomly, but users report the same glitch. First, the 3G and LTE connections fail, even when the device is in a sufficiently-covered area. The Nexus 6 will instead display a "!" logo on top of the signal bar. This keeps on happening even when there is a strong cell signal, or even if the Wi-Fi connection is stable.

Most users have reportedly tried doing both a hard and soft reset, to no avail. Owners who used the soft reset method (rebooting the phone) or the hard reset (turning the phone off for a couple of minutes before turning it back on again) reported that the problems persist after a few minutes of the mobile data connection coming back. 

Based on the forums, there is still no known cause of the glitch. It seems that the platform is not an issue, as both owners of Nexus 6 running on Android 5.0 and those who are already on the newest 5.1 Lollipop update seem to be experiencing the same problems.

On the official support forum, Google is now aware of the problem, and is investigating the cause and looking for a solution at the same time. However, as they are still investigating the reason for the glitch, they cannot recommend any specific solution at this time other than turning the phones off and then on again.
