The National Football League will continue to reach out to its fans in the United Kingdom after striking a deal with Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur to play at least two games a year in the club's new stadium.

The terms of the agreement and the description of the new stadium that will soon rise next to White Hart Lane in 2018 are posted on the website of the NFL UK and Tottenham.

The statement reads: "The NFL and Tottenham Hotspur today announced that they have reached agreement for a minimum of two games per year to be played during a 10-year partnership at the English Premier League team's new stadium in London."

The stadium will have a retractable grass field and under it, an artificial surface for NFL games.

"We have an opportunity now to deliver one of the most unique sports, leisure and entertainment venues in the world, bringing together the EPL and NFL for the first time," Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy stated.

Levy also discussed the support they would be getting from the private and public sectors for the project, which aimed for change in the area.

"This was an important factor for the NFL when they agreed to bring their hugely popular sport to Tottenham. I am delighted that we have succeeded in attracting them. We have a compelling and exciting partnership that will play its part as we begin transforming this area of Tottenham," Levy aded.

Meanwhile, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said: "With growing enthusiasm for the NFL in the United Kingdom, we are committed to hosting NFL games in world-class venues and are excited to partner with Tottenham Hotspur to play games at their future stadium. We share a vision and commitment to creating the best experience for our teams, fans and the local community."

The NFL has been successful in holding overseas games in London in Wembley Stadium since 2007. In a report by BBC Sports, Wembley Stadium issued a statement immediately following the deal which said: "We look forward to the NFL remaining part of this iconic venue's annual schedule."

According to the NFL, the deal with Tottenham is "not exclusive," and it will still be looking to hold games at the Wembley Stadium.
