NFL Rumors 49ers: Colin Kaepernick's fast still hanging in the balance

The San Francisco 49ers have gotten quite a bit of attention lately, but it's all died down with the conclusion of their quarterback drama. According to Gospel Herald, Blaine Gabbert supposedly walked away as the victor from this feud. Mike Tanier from the Bleacher Report said, "The 49ers' quarterback controversy is over." Nobody wonders what the turnout is for their quaterback of choice anymore.

According to Sporting News, ever since the offseason's beginning, Colin Kaepernick has been considering negotiations with the NFL, and he doesn't want to remain with them even with promises for the front office. Another unnamed source says the said player is believed to have an edge when it comes to talent. With his steep asking price, he scared both the Denver Broncos and the San Francisco 49ers off, and now Gabbert seems to have taken the starting job.

Other rumors, however, state that coach Chip Kelly is also more satisfied with this, since he would rather have Kaepernick out of the way for more consistent names. Though it does seem like the San Francisco 49ers have yet to announce anything formally, he seems to already have the position by default.

With the off-season over, things will stay quiet until the team's start of training camp on July 30. Niners Nation reports that there are currently 89 players in the roster. The clear choice for running back would be Carlos Hyde. For wide receiver, it would be definitely either Torrey Smith or Bruce Ellington. For Tight End, it would be Vance Mcdonald, Garrett Celek or Bruce Miller. There are several other names great for enlisting, but the standouts would be Aaron Lynch, NaVorro Bowman, Eric Reid and Antoine Bethea. There are a few more weeks until then, but competition is getting tight, and nobody knows where this year's season may lead to.
