NFL trade rumors 2016: Tennessee Titans dealing top pick?

Will the Tennessee Titans pass up the chance to potentially take first crack at the 2016 NFL Draft?

All that could depend on what the Titans will find on the table. Right now, the word around is that the team is listening to offers from other teams before making a move.

If the Titans decide to give up their number one pick privilege, it would be the first time in 12 years that such will happen.

The last team that did so was the San Diego Chargers in 2004. The Chargers traded up their chance for multiple picks. That included the fourth overall and a third round pick for that year which turned out to be Philip Rivers and Nate Kaeding plus a 2005 first rounder in Shawne Merriman and a fifth round selection.

There is no official word on what could be on the table, but it could be similar to that scenario. A franchise player could be also possible, although there are no names in mention right now.

Aside from the top overall pick, the Titans have other selections in the coming draft. That includes the no. 33 (second round) and No. 64 (third round) picks aside from also having one in the fourth, fifth, and seventh rounds. They also have two picks for the sixth round.

With a lot of options going their way, the question actually now is what general manager Jon Robinson feels that the team would need.

There are two potential top players to choose from as this year's number one pick. They are offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and defensive end Joey Bosa. Depending on the Titan's assessment, it all falls on what Robinson feels the team needs.

The Titans already have a quarterback they got from last season with Marcus Mariota. He was the number two pick from last season, so they may end up adding more pieces to restructure the team.

The Titans finished last season with a 3–13 record, the NFL's worst, so deciding on what to do this season will be critical. Should they pass up the number one pick for multiple picks? How about a veteran player or a combination of both (player trade plus picks)?
