The fans of "The Vampire Diaries" were so happy when Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder decided to be a couple. However, their hearts were crushed when the two broke up. Fans feared that there would be this awkwardness and that it would show through the show. Fortunately, that didn't happen as both have been very professional when it comes to work.

Now, Somerhalder has moved on from the actress and is happily in love with "Twilight" star Nikki Reed. The public display of affection between Reed and Somerhalder has been very apparent and it appears that the two are very much in love. After all, the two are already engaged and Reed is sporting a uniquely cut diamond ring that suits her personality, too.

2015 is said to be the year that the two are planning to get married. Somerhalder, 36, and Reed, 26, are reportedly going through the wedding plans already. But there's a fork on the road they have to deal with when it comes to inviting guests.

Hollywood Life reports that Reed and Somerhalder want to share the big event with all their friends and that includes the entire cast of "The Vampire Diaries." The only problem is, ex-girlfriend Dobrev is part of that list, which would make for a really awkward situation.

A source for Hollywood Life spilled, "It's a very weird predicament for Ian and Nikki. If it is a big wedding Ian feels that he has to ask Nina to go, but anticipates her to respectfully decline. That would be a win win.

"They may actually dodge future awkwardness by having a very intimate wedding with just family and then they can make the excuse that they didn't invite any cast members. One thing for sure is that it is a problem they are definitely trying to figure out," the source said.
