Dalena fans almost had a field day when they saw Ian Somerhalder profess his love for Nina Dobrev in his Twitter account. However, their hearts were broken once again when they found out that the actor was not the one who posted the controversial tweets for his ex-girlfriend.

E! News spotted the series of tweets posted by a hacker who wished to be called @clou9nin3. The hacker went on a tweeting spree for at least 20 minutes Tuesday before the posts were deleted. One of the most controversial tweets from Somerhalder's account contained the words "i LOVE U @ninadobrev."

Dobrev and Somerhalder, who starred together in "The Vampire Diaries" as Elena and Damon, respectively, started dating in mid-2010 and they broke up in May 2013. Somerhalder married "Twilight" star Nikki Reed in April while Dobrev is currently dating "Whiplash" actor Austin Stowell.

Dobrev and Stowell's relationship seems to be going strong. They were spotted earlier this week at Eli Mizrahi's Founding Member launch dinner event in New York City. The couple reportedly looked smitten with each other and were very affectionate in public.

A source told E! News how fond the 26-year-old Canadian-Bulgarian actress and the 30-year-old actor are of each other, saying, "You can tell how much they love each other just by the way they speak and their mannerisms toward one another. Austin is such a gentleman and treats Nina with such respect."

The couple was also spotted hanging out with Dobrev's former "TVD" co-stars when they attended the wedding of actress Kayla Ewell with her longtime boyfriend Tanner Novlan in Los Angeles last weekend. Ewell portrays the role of Vicki Donovan in The CW series. Dobrev also had the chance to bond with her "TVD" co-stars Zach Roerig (Matt Donovan), Michael Trevino (Tyler Lockwood), Sara Canning (Aunt Jenna Sommers) and Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes).

The actress left the supernatural drama after the sixth season finale to focus on expanding her career options in Hollywood.
