The Nintendo NX remains a complete mystery as Nintendo remains silent regarding the console's final name, how powerful it is and what games will be available upon launch other than "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." However, it is still confirmed to launch in March 2017 and Nintendo has released something else to celebrate how far they've come.

As reported by Gamespot, Nintendo is launching a brand new mini-NES console that will cost $60 in the U.S. The small console is an exact replica of the original and can fit into a person's hand. Itcomes with one wireless controller designed like the original NES controller. There are thirty NES classics built into the device.

Kotaku later revealed that the mini-NES cannot connect to the Internet and there are no means to use an external storage device like a microSD card to expand its memories or add games. The 30 games listed on the device are the only games that will work for it. A second controller is optional for purchase.

Nintendo re-releasing the NES, or at least a version of it, has struck fans and consumers as a means of showcasing how far the video game giant has come in the past 30 years and will be a stark contrast when the NX officially launches next year.

However, the console was not showcased during E3 this past June and fans have speculated that this could mean the NX is going to be delayed. Nintendo did confirm that the console will meet its expected launch date when it posted an announcement via Twitter.

This does mean that the NX will not be released for the holidays this year, a lucrative period for launches and one that other big companies such as Apple and Sony take great advantage of. Fans speculate that the reason for this delay is that the games specifically for the NX's launch have yet to be completed.
