Speculations are rife about the Nintendo NX, the Japan-based company's next gaming console. Not much is known about the device but there are already a lot of discussions and rumors about its release date.

Rumor has it that the brand new console will enter production by the end of the first quarter of 2016. That means that by April, Nintendo is already putting the device together. The company allegedly targets to ship 10 to 12 million NX units by the end of next year.

According to Digitimes, Foxconn Electronics won't be the only manufacturing company to work on the Nintendo NX. The aforementioned site claims that Nintendo has enlisted a slew of other firms to help out in the production of the tightly wrapped console.

The likes of Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku Technology, Delta Technology, Lingsen Precision Industries and Jentech are all said to be going on board the production by supplying the components of the gaming console for its 2016 outing.

Interestingly, days before Digitimes reported about the possible 2016 release of the NX, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter predicted that the console won't be ready by next year. If the device won't show up in next year's E3, he said that the odds are it will not be out in 2016 but rather in 2017.

Pachter also claimed during his show "The Pachter Factor" that the Nintendo NX will at least be 60 percent successful when it makes it out Nintendo's door. It will allegedly be priced $300 max and Nintendo will be able to sell 30 million copies owing to the NX being a "convergence device."

In the midst of the barrage of rumors and speculations, Nintendo remains unyieldingly mum. Unless the company decides to talk about the Nintendo NX itself, these reports are to be taken with a pinch of salt.

When it was first announced earlier this year by the late Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata, the Japan-based software company kept its lips sealed about the Nintendo NX, careful to keep it as big a secret as it was until the time comes for its unveiling.
