While Nintendo promised to provide details about its rumored upcoming next-gen console starting this year, fans have yet to find out the specs and features of the much-anticipated Nintendo NX system. Meanwhile, speculations continue to float online about the upcoming console system. According to recent predictions, since the Nintendo NX will need launching titles for its release, Nintendo might be planning on another, much improved "Super Smash Bros." game.

According to Games Radar, the prediction came from noted games industry analyst Dr. Serkan Toto. Reportedly, Dr. Toto issued some new industry forecasts for Nintendo, saying "Bandai Namco is currently developing several NX titles. 'Smash Bros.' is planned to be a launch title. I am not sure about the date – yet."

The industry follower said that while other observers might get a hit-or-miss prediction, Dr. Toto's guesses seem to be not far off the mark, especially since the current "Super Smash Bros." title already needs a new version. In addition to the brawler title being one of the most popular games for the Nintendo systems, having a new "Super Smash Bros." title for the upcoming system will also make the game a next-gen title, able to handle improved gameplay, design, and mechanics.

The Independent said that a new "Super Smash Bros." title could be an interesting choice as a launch game. Its genre and gameplay will be a good title for bridging the gap between the console and handheld editions of the series, as speculations place the Nintendo NX to be a hybrid device, a combination of console and mobile handheld systems.

Meanwhile, as speculations continue to float, the industry follower mentioned that the predictions and rumors will remain hearsays, at least until the middle of the year. It is said that Nintendo plans to release information about the Nintendo NX at a major gaming industry event, possibly at this year's E3 convention.
