Nintendo just unveiled the latest wave of amiibo figurines that is set to be released in spring this year, during Wednesday's Nintendo Direct briefing event.

Amiibo Wave 4 is confirmed to come out in the Japanese market on April 24, while Japanese fans will be able to start purchasing the new set of amiibo toys on April 29. Its release in North America, however, has not  been given a specific release date in spring 2015.

The amiibo Wave 4 lineup contains several noted "Smash Bros." characters, including Pac-Man, Wario, Ness, Robin, Charizard, and Lucina. The Marth amiibo will also be re-released at the same time.

Aside from the upcoming "Super Smash Bros."-centric amiibo toys, Nintendo also announced that they will come up with a brand new line-up of "Mario Party 10" figurines that is scheduled to come out on March 20. The new toys, bearing the classic design of fan-favorite Mario characters, will feature Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Princess Peach Bowser. Toad will also make his first appearance as an Amiigo figure during this release.

The new "Mario Party 10" bundle will come out with a new version of a Mario figurine that can be used to unlock the pieces in the board game. It will also have the "Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker" bundle, which is why the Toad toy will make its debut.

According to the Japanese game manufacturer, the latest amiibo releases will come with the same functions as their predecessors, which allow the players to select their ideal designs.

The Nintendo amiibo Wave 4 release will follow Wave 3, which is scheduled to come out in February. This wave includes Shulk, Mega Man, Toon Link, Meta Knigh, and Sonic, among others.

All the amiibo figurines can be used with the Wii U GamePad as well as the New Nintendo 3DS series.
