Nintendo Switch getting FPS exclusive from Bandai Namco

With the Nintendo Switch's success, it is not surprising to see more and more games being created exclusively for the console. Bandai Namco is one of the developers that have trusted the Switch with its games. Now, it looks like the game developer-publisher is taking a new turn with its games as it was reported to be making a new first-person shooter title exclusive for the Switch.

This leak was first seen on the LinkedIn page of one of the developers of Bandai Namco's Singapore studio. The bio description mentions that the company is working on an "unannounced IP (First Person Shooter/Adventure Exclusive to the Nintendo Switch)."

Although of course it does not mention any more details about those upcoming games, there are other clues that were found to support this leak, per GameSpot. Last year, in November, Bandai Namco had an earnings briefing in which it mostly mentioned about putting more efforts and resources to ride on the Switch's success.

In the website of the company's Singapore studio, a job listing was posted and the vacancies are all related to game development. Unfortunately, the posts only have general descriptions that involve the creation of AAA games.

Given that the FPS game genre is rising in popularity, specifically the battle royale mode, Bandai Namco may probably make its own version. That, coupled with the Switch's current success rate, it would not be too surprising for Bandai Namco to capitalize on these trends.

Also mentioned in the bio is another game that has yet to be announced, "Ridge Racer 8," which is described to be a "drift-based high-speed car racing exclusive to the Nintendo Switch." However, again, there are no other details provided. Bandai Namco has yet to release any more information about these new games.
